Being born and raised in Boise ID I was afforded the options to experience everything the outdoors have to offer. My parents started me skiing at Bogus Basin around the ripe age of 3. I’ve never quit skiing ever since. Throughout childhood we spent our time doing anything we could to be outside. Camping, fishing, hunting, baseball and anything else my family could find time to do.
We grew up riding four wheelers and dirt bikes in the mountains. From the Owhyee’s to Valley County, everywhere was our playground. I was introduced to snowmobiling by my wife and her family 12 years ago. That bug bites you hard. The sport combines everything I have ever loved. The power of a dirt bike with the feeling of deep powder skiing. And freedom to explore anywhere you want to go. I was immediately hooked and never looked back. I spent the next 10 years finding any way possible to be out on the snow. I decided this year it was time to make the leap to a snow bike. To say it’s what you read about is a pure understatement. The freedom and ease of riding is like nothing I’ve experienced. Being able to open new terrain that I never even thought a sled would go.
Today I have three boys of my own. I hope to one day share all that Idaho has to offer and the experiences that I grew up with. Having seen the pressures being put on our open land is what drives me to support Sum+it Riders and other organizations that work to maintain those rights.
