Born and raised in Challis Idaho. I grew up on a ranch, so I did not have much free time for riding at a young age.
My first sled was a 96 Ultra 680. I was so stoked when I loaded that heavy SOB in the back of my truck and brought it home! I rode mainly around the Challis and Stanley area with members of my family at this time. Next sled after that was a 03 RMK but due to injuries and surgeries I hardly had any seat time on it before selling.
The first taste of a new gen sled was a 08 Summit, again, bad luck limited my riding time. However, insurance kicked in and I found myself on a 2011 Summit. At this point I started riding more back country areas and quickly fell deeply in love with the sport. Not just the sport, but everything else riding with you close friends has to offer. I put away the snowboard and knew that whenever I had free time in the winter, I would be on my sled and in the back country with my pals is where I wanted to be.
Last season was my first full season of riding and it was amazing! I snow-checked a 155 Axys and found myself in some amazing back country settings with the Sum+It crew. I am relatively new to back country riding, but I know the importance of keeping it open for us to enjoy as well as passing it on to our children.
Last year I was lucky enough to be able to take my 6-year-old with me on some amazing rides. He has talked about those rides and going again all summer! He has a little Arctic Cat 120 and wants to be the youngest Sum+It Rider out there spreading the good word to keep our back country open!
